QUINOA SALAD WITH VEGETABLES AND VINHO TINTO FROM PORTUGAL ON DECEMBER 10
Last night I went to my favorite wine store in Park Slope. SIP Fine Wine always has a very diverse wine offer and on Friday evening you might have the opportunity to sample some wines. This time was a very interesting Italian gentleman featuring Italian wines. He also spoke perfectly Spanish and he explained on detail the regions were these wines were produce and of course tasting notes on each one. My favorite, because its uniqueness was 2009 Piedirosso Colli di Salermo from the region of Campania. It’s a red dry wine with a hummus and earthy finish, product of some the volcanic ground content were these grapes grow. [br]
2009 Chamine, is produced in Southern Portugal, where cool, Atlantic breezes moderate the sunny Mediterranean climate. It has balance tannins and intense, ripe berry fruit character. The other wine is a 2008 Gran Familia from the Rioja region that we have not tried yet. The producer suggests to save it in your cellar up to three years to improve it, we don’t have a cellar so I think we will open it soon. Salud and have a great weekend!
