BAKED PASTA ON NOVEMBER 3

A freezer treasure!. the original D.O.B. of this one:  july 27th! back then I rated this, some thing like “not the highlight of the week”. It wasn’t bad and we wad a lot of it left over. So we vacuum sealed and froze a few blocks of the  stuff  and  today we pulled them out. I must say, some of us were reluctant to the sight of the blocky mass, which didn’t look very appetizing but to revive this I placed the thawed pasta square cakes in a baking dish and poured a whole jar of a good tomato sauce around them and spooned it up the sides of the cakes and covered with a piece of aluminum foil. Then, I placed it in the oven, preheated to 375º. I cooked it with the foil cover for about 30 minutes and then removed it and baked uncovered for an other 20 minutes.I used a jar of a nice tomato sauce . The steam from the sauce bed slowly rehydrated the pasta to a perfect fresh like consistency while the sauce from the jar started to evaporate out concentrating its flavors further. I pulled out when the top was starting to brown. To finish it, I served it with a dollop of cottage cheese. It was actually very good.
